Stop Overthinking And Start Living In Present...!!!

THINKING is the natural process in human beings. Our brain makes us special. Then what is holding us back from life that we truly want to live?

          I'd say that one very common and destructive things is that we don't know how to stop overthinking.

       We overthink every little problem until it become bigger and scarier than it actually is. We overthink positive things until they don't look so positive anymore, where the anxiety starts to build.

So, here are 6 mindset techniques to overcome this hurdle.

1- Awareness is the beginning of change. 

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS, if you are realizing that you're getting into habit of  overthinking. Because before you can begin to address or cope with your habit of overthinking, you need to learn to be aware of it when it's happening. Any time you find yourself doubting or feeling anxious or stressed, step back. Because this moment of awareness is the seed of the change you want to make. 

2- Don't think of what can go wrong, but what can go right.

In many cases, overthinking appears when we think lot about what might go wrong. Why don't we skip thinking what can go wrong and invest our time in thinking the solution for the things that might go wrong and be prepared. So, say STOP to the negative thoughts and think of what can go right and keep those thoughts present and up front.

3- Distract your brain into what you like.

Sometimes distraction can be a solution. 

Do you remember the last time when you overthink? If NO, then give it a try and assume that when you are into the process of overthinking. 

You will find that this process begins when you are either free or working with boring task or doing what you don't really like. First of all start doing what you love. So here, just distract yourself with happy, positive,healthy alternatives like meditation, dancing, exercising, drawing or anything which can distance yourself from the issues enough to shut down the OVERTHINKING.

4- Put a timer to work.

Be your own teacher. Give yourself a boundary. Set a time for 2-5 minutes and think, worry and analyze. once the timer goes off, spend 10 minutes with a pen and paper. Write all the things you was worrying about. once the time gets over throw the paper and move on the things you find yourself happy in. HAPPY WITH WORK OR SOME ACTIVITY NOT WITH YOU THOUGHTS again. 

5- Focus on the solution.

Identify your problem, but give your power and energy to solutions. overthinking is huge problem until we make it a habit. 

Sometimes we overthink when we are not at the place where we want to be in life. Set your goals and get at the place you want to be. if you feel like life is out of control make a decision today to get back and start from the beginning. Remember, no one can control your thoughts and your reality. No one can think on your behalf nor everyone can make solution for your problems. It's only you who can master yourself.

6- Realize that you can't predict the future.

No one can predict the future. All we have is now. If you are spending the present moment in worrying about the future, you are literally robbing yourself from the present. Its not productive if you are investing a lot of time with your thoughts of future. so, from now if you start thinking for the uncertain future, just look back and think that you can't predict the future. Just be ready and prepared for the future and start living in the present.
