What is CRITICAL THINKING? / How to use this technique of thinking?

Everyday we include a sea of decisions even before getting up from bed. Some of them may be small and less important but others have a great impact on our lives.

For example: which leader should I vote for? or should I try the latest diet chart?

We are bombarded with so many decisions that it becomes difficult to make a perfect choice every time. But there are so many ways to improve our chances, and one particularly effective technique is CRITICAL THINKING.

Basically, critical thinking is the analysis of facts to form a judgment. It's the ability to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas.

So, if the critical part sound negative that's because in a way it is!!

Rather than choosing an answer because it's feels right, a person who uses critical thinking subjects all available option. They will eliminate everything but the most useful and reliable information.

There are many different ways of approaching critical thinking. But here is mainly 5 process that may help you solve any number of problem.

Formulate your question.

Just make the situation with a clear view of what you are actually trying to accomplish by what you are doing. For example: dieting.

So see that your aim is weight loss or better nutrition. Find what you are looking for and decide whether the new fad really suits your needs or not.

Gather your information.

Having a clear idea of your question will help you determine what's relevant. If you are trying to decide to improve your nutrition, you may ask an expert or the ne who is experienced. Gathering information help you to find different options, moving you close to a decision that meets your goal.

Apply the information

Something you do by asking critical question. Facing a decision, ask yourself, "what concept are at work?", "what assumptions exists?", is my interpretation of the information logically sound?

For example: in an email or advertisement it promises you millions, you should consider, "what is shaping my approach to this situation?", "Do I assume that the person is telling the truth?", Based on the evidence, is it logical to assume I'll win any money.

Consider the implication

Imagine it's election time and you choose the leader on the bases of their promises. At first, that seems great, but what about the long- term environment effects?

Think and then find your last decision.

Explore view points of others

Ask yourself why so many people are drawn to the policies of the opposing political candidate. Even if you disagree with every point that candidate says, exploring the full spectrum of their point of view, which may help you understand that why some policies which don't seem valid to you appeal to others. This will allow you to explore alternatives. You will be then able to evaluate your own choices and ultimately help you make more informed decision
